Langwarrin 0 – 1 Berwick City Lions
This game was intense from start to finish, and it was always going to be a one-goal margin. Langy started slowly, but some solid defending from Jamie, Will and Tyler managed to stop Berwick from getting an early grip on the game. Langy eventually settled down but couldn’t quite find that killer edge in front of goal, with some half-chances going begging. Berwick finally took the lead through an up-and-under shot that took everyone by surprise.
The second half saw both teams cancelling each other out before Langy finally moved the ball around with purpose. The last five minutes saw Langy play their best football with a couple of good moves down each flank from switched play, but neither could be converted into goals.
A close game that Langy probably deserved a point from.
