Our girls travelled to Elwood Park for what for the majority of the team was their first ever official match.
The 9-1 loss in terms of the score indicates they were well beaten however I couldn’t have been more proud of their endeavour and willingness to tough it out for the whole match.
Our team is made up of a mixture of girls still eligible for under 8’s, under 9’s and under 10’s so to step up to the much bigger pitch and play a full 50 minutes is a huge effort and they were all still going at the end and all smiling after the match.
We had some pleasing patches of team play and some individuals moments during the match and it was great to see the girls celebrate Sienna McDonalds goal. I am sure we will get plenty more opportunities to celebrate further goals in the coming weeks.
I feel we have a great bunch of girls who look to be getting on very well with each other and I look forward to seeing their improvement throughout the season.
