Round 10: Brunswick City v Langwarrin — 16 June, 2007

Two goals either side of half time gave Brunswick City all 3 points against an injury-ravaged Langwarrin side at Dunstan Reserve.

Langwarrin went in to the game missing a number of key players from the starting line up in Dave Jurisic and Deni Skopljak who both picked up injuries last weekend and also Liam Swaine who was promoted to the seniors, however they welcomed back Niall Mitten in to the squad. Gavin Coleman also got his first start for the season, and he slotted in to the sweeper role.

Langwarrin started off well on a very small Brunswick pitch and after 15 minutes took the lead when Nick Robinson struck the ball in to the top left hand corner from just inside the box. Both teams continued to work hard and with 5 minutes to go in the first half Brunswick got an equaliser when a free kick from the right wing was not cleared by the langy defence and a Brunswick player was on hand to put the ball in to the back of the net to make the score 1-1 and that's how it finished up at half time.

Langwarrin dominated the first 10 minutes of the second half, however it was Brunswick who took the lead due to a wonderfully struck volley by a Brunswick player. Langwarrin continued to press for an equaliser, however it was not to be and Brunswick came away 2-1 winners.

Langwarrin still sit in second place due to other results going there way, however they desperately need to take all 3 points against bottom placed Port Melbourne in order to stay in contention with the league leaders, Coburg.
