Saturday will see the second practice match for 2010 played a Lawton Park v the Ballarat Devils. KO will be 1:00pm for the U21 and 3:00pm for the seniors

It is critical that you register your kids this week. The club will be making decisions with regard to team registrations based on the players that we have on our registration database. If you have not registered please do so on Tue 6-8pm, Wed 8-9pm or Thu 6-8pm in the club rooms.

The following article is an excerpt from a story on the FFV web site. Bailey Wright a Langwarrin junior who after playing half a season with the seniors last year headed off to England and Preston North End in the Championship league.
This week, at the tender age of 17, Bailey Wright captained the Preston North End Reserve team in a League game against Tranmere Rovers in the UK. Read the full match report.
Bailey was a VIS Scholarship holder for two years from 2006-2008. Bailey has played for the Under 17 National team (Joeys) on many occasions from the age of 15, and embarked on many overseas tours with the squad.
He was a member of the Joeys squad that reached the Quarter finals of the Asian Under 16 World Cup Qualifiers, narrowly missing a place at the 2009 FIFA Under 17 World Cup when they lost 2-3 against UAE.
Greener was not surprised at Bailey's achievements, as he such a versatile player.
"He can play either fullback or centre back, and even in midfield such is his flexibility and natural talent for the game," Greener said.
"His strengths are his strong tackling and excellent first defending, he's excellent game sense – understanding of tactics and strategies, but it is his leadership qualities that stand out so much."
Bailey headed over to England in 2009 when he was overlooked for an AIS Scholarship and local A-League clubs failed to pick him up in any of their squads.

Women are invited to attend pre season training starting on Tuesday nights from 6:30pm sharp. Langwarrin expects to field a State League 3 team in 2010 and possibly a Metropolitan South team if numbers are sufficient. Anyone is welcome to trial.
